Who Are We

Founded by Xilin Association in January 2003, Xilin Asian Community Center is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization committed to serve Asian population's needs in the Greater Chicago area.

By leveraging the strengths of multi-cultural, the center creates a vibrant diverse community of exceptional resources for the educational, culture, and social needs of families, children and the elderly.

 


Our Mission

Our mission is to better serve Asian population's needs in the Greater Chicago area, which includes:
  • Provide an innovative education system for children's academic development which combines Eastern and Western philosophies
  • Promote and improve the healthy transition of Asian immigrants into the American society
  • Provide Asian culture, language and art programs
  • Develop community events and activities to promote cross-culture experiences among Asian and non-Asian population;
  • Play a role of linkage between Public Social Services and Asian population;
  • Encourage interest and active involvement of the Asian community in the US political process, economic development and culture affairs.


Administration Structure

Advisory Committee
The Xilin Asian Center Advisory Board will be formed to advice on the strategic planning, to oversee the center’s program development, to assist on public relations and help on fund raising.

Center Committee
The Xilin Asian Community Center Committee is formed by Committee Directors who will look over the operation of the center. A sub-committee will be formed in each functional area such as legal, financial planning, public relation, Advertisement, Xilin academy Education Research and Development, After School program, Senior Program, Database and Network.

Staff
Xilin has a strong force of volunteers since its establishment in 1989. Many of them are highly educated and motivated. Xilin will continue to recruit volunteers while it will hire full time administration team to run the Center's daily work. All the positions and recruitment will be carefully designed and evaluated.
